Fall Mountain Regional School District (Acworth, Langdon, Charlestown, Alstead, Walpole)
Our mission involves the well rounded education of our youth and a comprehensive curriculum that includes more AP courses offered than all but one other NH school. The FMRSD recognizes that there is a need for continuous improvement. We are striving to build professional learning communities and to become a learning organization. Toward this end, and taking advantage of the assistance provided by the state, we are building an improvement process based on the Best Schools Initiative, the HOPE Institute, and our own Fall Mountain School Improvement Planning Institute. All Fall Mountain schools have operating School Improvement Plans, and a district wide improvement planning process that is Specific and Strategic, Measurable, Attainable, Results-oriented, and Time-bound (SMART). Far from being an end in itself, this is only the beginning of an on-going systematic school improvement process that we are striving to make a part of our culture.
While we are all obligated to achieve Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), based primarily on the state tests, we recognize that the achievement of a comprehensive education is far more than can be revealed in a single test. We choose to seize the opportunity presented by the challenges of No Child Left Behind to be our best. Toward this end we are working to track various Key Indicators of Success that collectively reveal more about our level of success, than can the one state test. Apart from NCLB, we choose continuous improvement because education is all about learning ¡ for all.
The Fall Mountain Regional School District serves its communities well.
